Panjtan School has been running for the last 20 years. Currently Panjtan School has 260 students enrolled. These students come from many different ethnic backgrounds that include Pakistan, India, Afghanistan, Bosnia, Iraq, Somalia, Lebanon and East African countries. The school runs classes for grades Prep, 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7 & Senior class, and is aligned with Victorian School Grades, which means students are enrolled in the same grade at Panjtan School as they are in their school (with some exceptions). The school generally utilises the syllabus from Madressa.com and As Sirat which is also utilised by most Shia communities around the world. The syllabus is also available on Pantjan website under the Panjtan School link. Recently some of the course material has been revamped in-house. School timings are every Sunday from 10:30am to 2:30pm and follows a fixed timetable throughout the year. The major subjects that are taught are Quran, Fiqh, Islamic History, Akhlaaq, and Urdu (as a language). All these subjects (except Urdu) are taught in English. Apart from these subjects students are also taught Namaaz, Wudhu, Duas and Ziaraats. Various tests, exams and competitions are held throughout the year in all the classes in order to assess the students. At the end of every year a prize distribution ceremony is held for various achievements. The school’s Admin Team takes care of and facilitates all the activities of the school, and works closely with teachers, parents and students.
